Our Cantorial Soloist during the school year is Jaqui McCabe who attends the University of Arizona, double majoring in English and Judaic Studies.  She is from northern California, and began her Jewish singing career at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, California.  In high school Jaqui was a member of the first ranked high school choir of Northern California, Monte Vista High School.  In the fall of 2008 she was a Cantorial Intern at Or Chadash with Cantor Janece Cohen.  After graduating from the University of Arizona Jaqui hopes to go to Cantorial School to fulfill her dream of becoming a Cantor.

Rabbi Helen Cohn

 

Rabbi Helen Cohn was ordained in 1994 from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, which is the home of the Reform movement.  She moved to Tucson in the summer of 2006 after twelve years at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco, the largest congregation in Northern California.  After serving as interim rabbi for Congregation Chaverim in Tucson she was asked to be the spiritual leader of Tucson's newest Reform congregation, M'kor Hayim.  

Rabbi Helen's main areas of interest are Jewish education, spirituality, and meditation.  She is also a Spiritual Director, having trained at the Mercy Center in Burlingame, California, and is a co-founder of the Tucson Center for Spiritual Direction.

Marco Jiménez is currently a graduate student pursuing a Masters of Music in Collaborative Piano at the University of Arizona.  During his tenure at the UA, Marco has accompanied fellow students for competitions, recitals, and in their individual lessons as well as having played in a number of venues at the UofA and around Tucson.  Equally at home onstage as a singer, Marco received a degree in voice from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM where he was born and raised.
